4 Quick Days

We had a very quick, and busy, 4th of July weekend. On Friday morning we loaded up and headed to Prinsburg, Minnesota (7ish hours away). We went to visit Jeff, Wendy, and Trey, and to meet our new nephew, Chase. Chase is a sweet baby, who actually looks quite a bit like Malik did when he was first born. Malik loves babies and was very interested in Chase. He decided his job was to keep track of Chase's pacifier and he was very concerned if it was not with Chase when he checked on him.

Another goal for the weekend was to help Jeff and Wendy pack up their things into a
U-Haul truck as they are moving to Chicago so that Jeff can start school this coming Thursday. We were so glad to also be able to spend time with Wendy's sister, Julie, and her daughter, Laine. Wendy's parents, Gary and Karen were also there. Even though we spent all weekend packing, loading, and cleaning, we had a great time.

As I write this, Malik and I are home. Our trip back was uneventful. Everyone else, including Greg, are in Chicago unloading the trucks at their new apartment. Greg will ride the Amtrak back to Ottumwa tomorrow.
