Happy Easter!

We hope everyone had a great Easter this year. We had a fun weekend together here in Pella.

Good Friday is considered a holiday at Pella Corporation, so we were lucky to actually have a 3 day weekend at home! The weather was great for most of the weekend, which meant we spent a considerable amount of time outside.

On Saturday morning, we took Malik down to the square for the city egg hunt. I would actually call it a "candy hunt" as they don't use any eggs at all. They just throw the wrapped candy on the ground and it becomes a free-for-all once they shout "go"! That said, I guess there isn't much "hunting" about it either! Malik had fun and ended up with way more candy than was needed. Several friends were there as well, which made it even better. After the "hunt", we spent some time on the square...got Malik some new sandals for the summer and had lunch at the Windmill Cafe.

After a good nap, we colored some hard boiled eggs. Malik had the most fun getting his hands as messy as possible. I think he was most excited when we finally let him crack one open. Turns out he's a big fan of hard boiled eggs. Who would have guessed?

On Sunday, we enjoyed a wonderful church service. Malik was enthralled with the drum line they had set up as well as the extra video and visual effects. He made it through about half of the service and then arrived at nursery just in time for craft and snack. It doesn't get much better than that!

After nap time, we had a small egg hunt out in the front yard. We were lucky enough to finish right as it started sprinkling on us! He was excited about his new movie, "Cars", a little plastic golf set and a baseball mit. Nana added a book and puzzle to the basket as well, which were both big hits.
