15 months old!

Elias turned 15 months old on the 15th! We just had his appointment at the doctor. His stats are as follows (with Malik's at this age following).

Weight: 25 lbs. 4 1/2 oz - 65% (Malik: 30 lbs. 5 1/2 oz. - 97%)

Height: 30 1/2 inches - 25% (Malik: 32 inches - 75%)

Head: 19 1/4 inches - 95% (Malik: 19 1/2 inches - 95%)


We're really having so much fun with him these days as his own little personality is really showing. He eyes continue to be the brightest blue ever and he has an enormous smile that even strangers comment on.

He usually takes a nap in the morning for about an hour, one in the afternoon for two hours (sometimes a bit less) and then goes to bed around 7:30 and sleeps until somewhere between 7:00-8:00 the next morning. He's still a huge fan of his pacifier and before too long, we'll need to start transitioning to only having it in his crib (which is probably as much as a transition for me as it is for him!) He sleeps with one of two favorite blankets as well as his glow-worm and several other animal friends. He's also started requesting that we leave books in his crib before we leave the room (Malik also did this at this age).

He's starting to follow simple, familiar commands (i.e., let's go upstairs, time to go outside, let's get a clean diaper). He says "ma" for 'mommy' and 'malik', and says "nigh-nigh" for 'night-night'. He also overgeneralizes 'nigh-nigh' as he substitutes it for 'bye-bye' as well. Pretty much any time he waves his hand he also says 'nigh-nigh'. It's pretty cute and makes everyone laugh.

He loves to read books and will pant whenever he sees a dog and growls for any pictures of a tiger or dinosaur. He eats like a champ (although he doesn't really care for broccoli) and would probably drink a gallon of milk a day if we let him.

He loves to play outside. His favorite new activity is climbing up the slide the wrong direction and attempting to climb down the ladder. Thanks to Malik for showing him this trick! He loves his brother and is always trying to keep up with whatever Malik is doing. Malik isn't always so thrilled about this, but it is fun to watch them chase each other around the house laughing as hard as they can. I so hope and pray they will grow up to be great friends!
