Our boys really wanted to go to a beach to build sandcastles. They remembered going to Lake Michigan last year and wanted to repeat the experience again. After considering the 45 minute drive to get to the lake, the cooler weather this year, and the fact that the lake would be absolutely freezing, we opted to try out a nice little park only 5 minutes from Jeff and Wendy's house. It turned out to be perfect. There was a great swimming area where the boys could still touch, no overwhelming waves, and a wonderful beach area to build. We had a great time!
That evening, we grilled sandwiches over the fire pit for dinner and enjoyed S'mores as well-
