How is it possible that Malik is a 1st grader?! He started at a new school this year, Lincoln Elementary. Earlier in the summer, he had expressed some concerns about the change in schools but when the first day came, he was a rock star. In fact, he barely even remembered to say 'good-bye' to me in the hallway as he walked into his classroom!
He's had a week of school so far (with two early outs for heat - no air conditioning in the school!) He seems to like his teacher and is making a lot of new friends. We're really proud of how well he's handled this change and new surroundings. He tells us 1st grade is 'lots better than kindergarten because we get to do more math!' He truly is his father's son!
