Elias turns 2!

Elias turned 2 years old on May 15th.  His party wasn't scheduled until the following weekend, so we tried to make his day special for him, even though he really has no idea what's going on.  He will however answer 'two!' to just about any question you ask him.

We started the morning out with a special breakfast of pancakes and sausage and then opened a new Play-Dough set.  

He had his pictures taken at the local place in the morning (more on those later) and did a great job.  We hit the McDonald's drive through for lunch and earned the great prize of a spy-gear blue-tooth thingy.  Nice.

No birthday is complete without ice cream, so we headed to the DeScoop after dinner.  Needless to say, the boys will be sharing sundaes from there from now on.  My goodness.

Malik even got a gift from our family in Texas.  He was pretty excited to be included in the gift opening!

Some random facts about our big 2-year-old-

*He talks non-stop.  He's using mostly 2-3 word utterances but is starting to put some short, complete sentences together.  "I want a turn."

*He is wearing size 2T bottoms (all elastic waist) and size 3T tops.

*He loves fruit, diary products, and crackers.  He has recently taken an interest in cereal with milk for breakfast.

*He's our little monkey.  Climbing on anything and everything with no fear.  I wonder how many trips to the E.R. he will earn?

*He takes one nap in the afternoon for 1 1/2 - 2 hours and then sleeps from about 8:00 pm to 6:30 am at night.  He loves his blanket and animal friends and yes, still sleeps with his pacifier.  I'm sure we need to break the habit, but right now, it sometimes buys me an extra hour of sleep in the morning.  Selfishly, I'm just not ready to give that up yet!

*He will occasionally request to use the toilet, which is super great.  I'm trying to not get my hopes up on any timeline of being done with diapers!

*He adores Malik and wants to do everything just like him.  They have their moments, but are really starting to play together well.

*He's a delightful little guy most of the time.  We're lucky to have him and thank God for the great gift he is to us!
